Towards the end of the year

WOOHHOOO!!! 


I am so very very happy..! Three days ago, i finally finished all my exams... so hopefully everything goes well then i can kiss UniSA goodbye...

So, here's some exciting upcoming events:
wed, 30/11/11: Christmas party with my friends
Since I was born, i never really celebrate Christmas with my family. Sometimes i celebrate it with friends, so this year before i go back home to Indonesia, my friends and i decided to do "secret santa" game and have christmas dinner together.

sat, 03/12/11: from Adelaide - Perth - Indonesia
so, on the 3rd of december, i'm going to Perth in the morning, for only a few hours, then catch another plane from Perth to Indonesia. Never been to Perth before but i heard its really quite there. I've heard a lot about Perth's famous Apple Strudel (Corica) and tasted it before and its lovely! So, i'll definitely get some for my family in Indonesia too..

From Perth, my next destination is my home country that i miss so much... :) I cant wait to be back home with my family! Full house! Everybody will be there, mom, dad, two sisters, one brother, two dogs. Its been a while since the whole family gathered. Last year when i went back home, my brother decided to stay in Adelaide and do summer course instead of going home. And it feels incomplete without him. So, i cant wait!!

between today and saturday (03/12/11), there are a lot of things that i must do:
1. cherry picking
2. going to my old house to get my stuff
3. fix my car
4. cook for christmas dinner
5. PACKING!!! (sigh there are so much stuff to be packed)

anyway, it 3am here... bye :)

14, 25, 26

14th, 25th and 26th of November, are the dates of my exams... and today is the 7th of November. So, I have exactly 7 days until my first exam. Since, my first exam is a first year subject - that i chose to do in my final semester to ease my final semester's burden and oh, i heard its one of the easiest subject - i will start studying 4 days before the exam. which i (and a lot of former students) think is enough preparation for the exam. meanwhile, since i dont know what to study for my 3rd year core subject, i decided to start revising my elective subject. but... y is it so hard to enjoy exam revisions? out of hundreds of lecture slides, i have done 2 slides so far, yes, ive only revised about 5% of chapter 1 out of 12 chapters. is it because of the weather? or maybe because im currently recovering from my cold and cough? or is it because of my house?

sigh... should stop blaming everything, its just my laziness, yes i know im lazy. i should push myself!

btw this past few days, the weather has been really nice and i love it. i always love spring and summer (minus the exam) :)

Singapore House

My friends have been asking me to try a restaurant called Singapore House. They said its superrr! So, my friends and i went there last week and most of the food we tried were really nice. YUM! cant wait to come back and eat there. The first time we stepped in we were shocked! its like the nicest Asian restaurant in Adelaide, we didnt really expect it to be that nice.

I find it weird having spicy tasty food as entree (as i usually eat it with rice). For example, the chilli soft shell crab. and have another food, say the duck leg for main (and eat it with rice). and we peeked other tables to see how big the portion is, and it was pretty big, so even ordering one main for ourselves would be too much. So my friend and i decided to share 4 main dishes. Some food we ordered are actually entree dishes but since we're sharing, we asked the chef to make it main size. And we struggled to finish everything.

The Union Hotel

Bought a random voucher from scoopon and tried the Union Hotel with my friend. We ordered the entree plater (we can choose 3 entrees), two mains and a dessert to share. So, this is what we chose:

So, here's what i think:

Entree:
Overall, the entree was okay. The squid is not tasty enough but the beef medallion and asparagus cheese fritata are quite nice.

Main:
Honestly, I dont like the mains. The Eye fillet is ordinary and beef cheek.... i didnt even finish half of it.

Dessert:
The coconut crumble we chose for dessert was quite good, they served it with fresh cream and strawberry.

So, this is just my own opinion. If anyone disagree with my opinions, i apologize.

Milano Cucina

Few weeks ago, my friend and i went to Milano Cucina, an italian restaurant somewhere in hutt st (i'll provide the details below). Each of us ordered an entree and a main course. Many people i know was a disappointed with the food, but some food that we ordered was quite nice.

So, i don't think there's anything special with the smoked salmon (pic 1) but the soft-shell crab and calamari entree (2nd pic) is nice, i like the aioli sauce served with it.

The mushroom risotto (3rd pic) was nice, i like the flavor of the truffle. The blue swimmer crab linguine was hmm... (sorry) tasteless.

So, this is just my own opinion. Anyone who doesn't agree with whatever i wrote here, then i'm sorry if i disappoint anybody. Again, this is PURELY just my opinion.

Someone i know very well, has just gone through a heart breaking storm. She was proud of herself for what happened to her, she said "I wanted to give up, it hurts so bad, but i stayed through the pain, i chose not to give up until the end. Although what I stood for gives me nothing until now, but i'm proud to know that i was faithful, coz this proves that i'm a winner... and I know something better awaits me". So, for you you you out there facing some hard times, dont give up, have faith, you'll win  :)
